Board the schooner and enjoy a sunset sail aboard the Alabama as she transits from her mooring to the fireworks venue off of Oak Bluff’s village. After the sunset sail the Alabama will anchor in close proximity to the fireworks so that guests are treated to a fantastic vantage point.
Willy Mason and Friends will perform aboard the schooner during this evening’s sunset cruise.
The schooner Alabama is a living piece of America’s maritime history. Built in 1926 for the Mobile, Alabama Bar Pilots, she served until her retirement in 1966. Never fitted out as a sailing vessel by the Mobile Pilots, she was finally given this opportunity thirty years later when it was decided to put her back to work in 1994.
